Mount Rinjani National Park to Reopen for Nature Tourism on August 11, 2025 after undergoing an intensive evaluation and comprehensive improvements in trekking management. The decision was made following an Evaluation Meeting on August 8, 2025, involving various ministries, institutions, and relevant stakeholders.

Key points include:

Revised Trekking SOP, covering trail grade adjustments (Grade IV), guide-to-hiker ratio, insurance system, and safety contingency plans.

Online booking reopens on August 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM WITA through the eRinjani application on the Playstore.

Policies to be reviewed regularly to ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors.

Balai Taman Nasional Gunung Rinjani (BTNGR) resmi mengumumkan revisi kelima Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) pendakian Gunung Rinjani yang mulai berlaku pada tahun 2025. Dalam revisi ini, terdapat sejumlah perubahan signifikan yang wajib diperhatikan oleh para pendaki, Trekking Organizer (TO), serta pihak terkait.

Poin-Poin Perubahan SOP Pendakian Rinjani 2025:

1. Surat Sehat Lebih Ketat
Setiap pendaki wajib memiliki surat keterangan sehat yang berlaku maksimal H-1 sebelum pendakian. Aturan ini bertujuan memastikan kondisi fisik pendaki benar-benar prima sebelum memulai perjalanan.

2. Pernyataan dan Asuransi
Pendaki harus mengisi Surat Pernyataan dan mencantumkan data asuransi lain yang dimiliki.

3. Pendaki Wajib Memiliki Pengalaman
Pengalaman pendakian dibuktikan dengan foto, sertifikat, atau wawancara.

4. Pendaki di Bawah 17 Tahun
Harus didampingi dan membawa izin orang tua.

5. Pendaki Pemula
Wajib didampingi guide berpengalaman.

6. Safety Briefing
Semua pendaki wajib mengikuti safety briefing sebelum memulai pendakian.

7. Rasio Guide dan Porter
Rasio guide (1 guide untuk 5 pendaki) & Rasio porter (2 pendaki asing atau 3 pendaki lokal per porter).

8. Standar Perlengkapan
Trekking Organizer wajib memastikan perlengkapan pendakian memenuhi standar keamanan.

9. Larangan Peralatan Hiburan
Dilarang membawa speaker aktif dan alat musik selama pendakian demi menjaga ketenangan dan kelestarian alam.

10. Aturan Reschedule
Pendaki yang ingin melakukan perubahan jadwal wajib melapor serta melampirkan alasan perubahan jadwal dan bukti pendukung.

Pihak BTNGR menegaskan bahwa aturan baru ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan keselamatan pendaki, menjaga kenyamanan, serta melestarikan ekosistem Gunung Rinjani. Dengan SOP terbaru ini, diharapkan pendakian Rinjani di tahun 2025 akan semakin tertib, aman, dan ramah lingkungan.

MOUNT RINJANI HIKING TRAILS TEMPORARILY CLOSED FROM AUGUST 1–10, 2025

The Mount Rinjani National Park Authority (BTNGR) has officially announced the temporary closure of the hiking tourism destination within Mount Rinjani National Park. This decision follows recommendations from the Coordination Meeting on Follow-Up Actions for an Accident that occurred along the Rinjani hiking trail on July 18, 2025.

The temporary closure is also based on the outcomes of the Coordination Meeting on Strengthening Safety Measures and Emergency Preparedness held in West Nusa Tenggara Province on July 22, 2025. The meeting was organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF).

According to the official letter from the MoEF, No. ND.1009/KSDAE/PJL/KSA.04/7/2025 dated July 19, 2025, the Mount Rinjani hiking area will be temporarily closed from August 1 to August 10, 2025.

For hikers who have already purchased entrance tickets (e-tickets) for dates between August 1 and 10, 2025, BTNGR provides the following options:

1. Rescheduling (during the 2025 hiking season)

2. Requesting a full refund for the entrance ticket and insurance in the event of trip cancellation.

This temporary closure aims to improve safety protocols, emergency response readiness, and overall hiking comfort for future visitors.

Lombok, July 16, 2025 – A Swiss hiker who was involved in an accident while trekking in Mount Rinjani National Park has been successfully evacuated. The rescue operation took place on Wednesday at around 5:00 PM Central Indonesia Time (WITA) using a helicopter.

Following the evacuation, the victim was immediately flown to a hospital in Bali for further medical treatment.

We urge all hikers to exercise caution during trekking activities. Always prioritize safety, watch every step, and avoid rushing to prevent accidents.
